42voices mentioned in Guardian article!

Check out our mention in the Guardian’s blog post covering Launch48’s latest event held in Edinburgh:

42Voices presents a weekend of hard work!

You can see our final presentation from Launch48, including a sneak preview demo of the system in use! We’re right in the middle, as are most great things (ie. filling of an Oreo), starting at the 56:00 mark.

42Voices website is revealed!
Only 48 hours after the team was assembled, we are delighted to announce that our website was unveiled Sunday night at  www.42voices.com.
We have had a tremendous weekend at Launch48 in London, and 42Voices is really excited to help bring companies and voice-over artists together in a new way. Feedback so far has been terrific, and we look forward to revolutionising the voice-over industry with our free-to-join marketplace.
In fact, we’ve already had our first client! The grocery magicians at Recip.ly were great to work with, and we have no doubt they will succeed with such a professional video to get them going. Thanks Recip.ly for the support :-)
We’ll soon be accepting project submissions, so be sure to sign up to our newsletter to hear when the rest of the site goes live!

The very serious team, still energised after our 48 hour rush!
Collectively we are 42Voices, and from left to right we are Will Tonkin-Howe, Jessica Williamson, Kristen Oldenburger, Andrew Dancy, Michal Bohanes, Karl Renner, Glenn Shoosmith, Greg Bock, our voice artist guru Su, Alex Gemmell, Imran Ghory, Clio Collins, Jonas Griem, Madu Ramakrishna - and we need to Photoshop in Grace Wang and Weiwei, who sadly escaped before we got the camera out… next time we’ll snap a ‘Before’ shot too :-)

How to Build a Basic Home Recording Studio in 4 Simple Steps!

Mic

Want to use your brilliant voice to earn some money from home? Here are 4 steps to get started:

  1. Get a good mic. You can order one online. We love the Shure SM58 Vocal Microphone!
  2. Set-up a sound card for your computer.  If you need inspiration, try the Trust 714DX 7.1 Sound Expert Sound Card from Amazon for just £30.
  3. Install some software on your computer to get recording and editing! Try Wave MP3 Editor PRO, Audacity or Free Sound Editor Free, so choose the one that best fits your needs!  You can also purchase Audition 3 if you would like to use a professional recording, mixing, editing and mastering application.  A free 30-day trial can be downloaded from Adobe.com.
  4. Finally, if you want to put your mic on a stand rather than hold it, you can find some ideas at Amazon.co.uk
